Tempest is committed to active participation in community issues and concerns. We are task-oriented, with a focus on the completion of specific projects or programs in which a measurable and relevant result can be accomplished. Tempest seeks to be instrumental in the creation and implementation of specific projects and programs designed to bring about the changes which address the community’s needs and outcomes.
Tempest encourages and supports grassroots participation which emerges in response to neighborhood concerns, which residents perceive because of disinvestment, institutional neglect, barrios to participation in work, social status, language, ethnicity. Concerns expressed by residents can be addressed to take action when neighborhood and community issues require efforts to influence the agenda of local governments.
